Card Making With The Girlies Last One 2012

What a busy time of year - fortunately we found time to meet up at the Watering Hole for the final get together of 2012.

We started off with Bring A Plate fill A Plate for Lunch, what a spread it was !

We stopped for at 3 p.m. for tea or coffee.  Just to add more inches on the hips I surprised Mum with a Caterpillar Birthday Cake (chocolate of course).  Mum celebrates her birthday on Christmas Day so it was a 'bit special' her birthday always gets swallowed up with the BIG DAY!

So all in all lovely company, lovely nibbles and crafting too!

Yesterday was 'my turn' and I set the girlies a Bingo Challenge.

I have to apologise for the quality of the photographs it was not good light, I am not keen to use the flash.   The angle was all wrong too,  I will not be taking it up as a hobby. Who knows Father Christmas could bring me a new camera?

Let me know if I got the cards and names muddled up  I have a feeling Sue, Sharon and Anitta are in a muddle?

How very different they all are  - some fancy folding too.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to everyone x

Cardmaking With The Girlies November 2012

Time again to share the cards made at The Watering Hole.

This week I bought along Marianne Designable Folders for the Girlies to have a play with.

Also my Marianne dies on a Christmas Theme, sleigh, reindeer, village small and large, snowflakes, and sentiments with some samples I have made using these dies.

I was really looking forward to this class hoping that the girlies would come up with other ideas using these dies - as always they came up trumps!  It is always fascinating to see what other ideas come forward.

As always time is an issue, never enough time!  It takes a while to choose colours, papers, and all of that, anyway here are the results.

The Girlies choosing cards, papers, dies etc.

Some discussion going on here ....
 Lots of concentration!
The first set of cards using the Marianne Designable - Ice Crystals Folder:
Mum's in the red and my sample white and silver with the tag.
Rosemary's in blue, Sally's with the baubles.
Sue's in red and silver and Joan's in blue and white.  As always Joan thinks 'out of the box'  what a different idea with the ice crystals folder! Die cutting into an oval - stunning!
The next set, mostly my samples here .
 Rosemary's  first design.
 Rosemary's second design.
Sally's design using vellum on a gold card with a gold snowflake.

Well done to Rosemary - 3 cards finished, very speedy indeedy!!

A lovely afternoon, missed you Jacky, Anitta, Sharon and Julia -  hope to see you all again soon.

Special hugs to Jacky - get well soon.

Cardmaking With The Girlies October 2012

Hello Bloggers

Here are some pictures from our last class at The Watering Hole.

First attempt for me at transferring images onto candles - trust me to choose a blooming big image!

Still you learn by your mistakes !!

I am so sorry  everyone, that because I am so late posting these pictures I cannot remember who did what!

I forgot to say we were making a matching card.   I think you will agree the results are lovely!

Needless to say no matching card for my candle or for Mum's, ours took SO long to colour we just ran out of time.

I went for the bright red Poinsettia look,  Mum went for the more delicate Christmas Rose, which I think is much  much lovelier.

Almost everyone else went for the Owl stamp - what a HOOT !

All for now, be back soon,  thank you for looking.

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to share this card with you.

I have used the free stamps and free papers in the latest copy of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine Issue 110.

There are some fabulous articles this month so worth getting if you haven't already!

How generous of CM&P Magazine to give away such lovely papers and stamps, there is another one ... I have coloured her too,  just not yet got around to finishing it off.
So must go things to do ...

No! I am not on commission for this magazine it is my fav though.

Sarah Kay - gardeners need many helpers.....

Back again...

I have looked up the name of this stamp and it is called 'Gardeners Need Many Helpers' by Sarah Kay and not boy with a pitch fork as I had put up previously.

I thought I would post up another few pictures of this card since it has been so popular .

X Cut fence die, LOTV sentiment.
Sorry about the quality of the first picture I really must try and sort out the focus here, the close ups are fine ??
Better than the first ever posting though.

This is the same stamp used in a different way.

Martha Stewart Punch.

That is all from me today.  be back again soon and thank
 you for taking the time to look :}
