Hello everyone,

Just wanted to share this card with you.

I have used the free stamps and free papers in the latest copy of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine Issue 110.

There are some fabulous articles this month so worth getting if you haven't already!

How generous of CM&P Magazine to give away such lovely papers and stamps, there is another one ... I have coloured her too,  just not yet got around to finishing it off.
So must go things to do ...

No! I am not on commission for this magazine it is my fav though.

I have looked up the name of this stamp and it is called 'Gardeners Need Many Helpers' by Sarah Kay and not boy with a pitch fork as I had put up previously.

I thought I would post up another few pictures of this card since it has been so popular .

Card Making with the girlies... again.

Hello everyone.

Yesterday was our Card Making Group at the Watering Hole.
I set the girls a sketch challenge.  Any theme, any size, anything you like.
Here are the results.

The first picture is an example I showed the group before we started; as is the white on white butterfly card I made for a sketch challenge I entered ages ago.

It is amazing how everyone came up with really different cards.

• Sharon made a 'Man's Card' on a 'black and white' theme, turned the sketch onto its side, stunning result.  Also a Christmas Card 'Gold and Purple'. 
• Joan's card was on an Autumnal theme, love the embossing folder for the background , colours are lovely too.  
• Mother made a Christmas Card - lots of lovely Robins!
• Mine is the blue one a  Birdie Birthday Card .
• Rosemary only had about 30 minutes to 'play' as she had a meeting to attend.  Rosemary managed to come up with the lovely red and white Christmas Card and almost finished the flower on the front it wasn't attached we just ran out of time ( stood in front just so we could get a picture) - to be finished at home.  I wanted to say, what an achievement in such a short time!! 
• Jacky I am so sorry I only managed to get some of your card in the group picture, love your silhouette Robin on sparkly label die.
• Anitta is finishing her cards off at home.  Hope you are feeling better today xx

Really looking forward to the next meeting,  Rosemary's turn !  We are stamping onto candles for Christmas - how exciting.  Will post up pictures after   hopefully).

Christmas is coming ...

Christmas is on my mind.  All the magazines are giving us ideas, already,  so it must be time to get cracking.

This year I wanted to make life easy so I am trying to come up with something quick and easy.

Here is my first attempt.

A freebie stamp from the October issue 109 of Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.

Not my usual choice at all - but I did think it is quite a cute image.

The frame is a Spellbinders Fancy Floral Oval die with the inside cut out to make a frame.

The stamp was stamped onto the card blank with memento ink and coloured in using FlexMarkers,
Prisma pencils, souffle pens, lots of Stickles Star Dust and Glamour Dust to finish off.

Lastly I used a E-Z Rub Off transfer 'Merry Christmas' greeting.

Quick and easy?

Not sure what happened with the quality of the  last photo looks a bit odd.

Stationery Box

Hello everyone,

I have been so busy getting to know my new computer I haven't been making anything lately.  Not sure where the time goes to!

By the time I have walked Daisy, got the housework up together, thought about evening meal etc etc what time is there left?  I am sure everyone else feels the same, what I want to do is sit and play.

I did manage to squeeze this one in.   I have to say though it has taken simply ages to finish, here goes...

The papers are a freebie from Simply Cards & Papercraft Magazine, Issue 101 they are Prima Botanical Collection

All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts sweetheart blossoms.

The pretty trim is also a freebie  from Jacque's Joie de Vivre - I was so lucky to win her candy draw a few months ago 'tis hiding a multitude of  wonkiness!

The brad I have no idea where it came from - I just needed something to dangle my lock and key charms { that I found in the £ shop } from.

All the bits and bobs inside the box are not staying, when I have the time I am going to make some envelopes and notelets colour coordinated to go inside along with a wallet of stamps.

Well that is it from me today - I have my mind on Christmas cards .... only thinking, is it really time to start?????

Poshed Up Box of Drawers

What a beautiful day it is! Could possibly be the hottest day for quite a  long time. Very warm outside, so I decided to keep cool inside and share this box of drawers.

This is my very first attempt at altering a box ... I have to say I loved doing this.  I didn't really have a clue or anything in mind when I started, however I am really pleased with the outcome.

I started by painting the outside and all the drawers with white acrylic paint.

I then left it for a few days to dry out completely.  Should have taken some pictures as I was going along, for a before, during and after. 

Papers

I decorated with the wonderful Pion papers, I can't remember whether it is Fairytale of Spring, For My Mother, From the Heart II - I happen to love them all, found them from Dies to Die For.  I also used a random piece from a 6" x 6" paper pack free with a magazine (this is the mailbox on the bottom two drawers)  fitted in with the peachy colour scheme.

Flowers

All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, actually only added a few.

Pearls

The pearls are from my local haberdashery shop sold, by the metre.

There we have it, my first  box of drawers all poshed up!  Think I may have the bug!

August Card Making With The Girlies

Today I am sharing lots of pics from our all day card making bonanza. 

Our morning session was taken up with making A Tea Light Gift Box/Card.

I posted this one a few weeks ago, I used a Saturated Canary digi stamp and  used lime green  - something completely different for me. 

The card making day was based around a Christmas Theme. 

Just loved the way these have all turned out!  They are all so different.

Firstly, some pictures of  'The Girlies'  beavering away. 

Here is Mum and Rosemary, concentrating really hard.   Mum did manage to put one of the inside pieces of paper upside down, we soon rectified that with another piece the right way up to conceal.  Although, as you can imagine Mum was not best pleased, to say the least!   These two were in fits of giggles later, sadly my camera was not at hand!  I would have loved to have snapped that!

Anitta and Sue.

Anitta was very quiet, she had a horrible headache.  I am sure this weather is responsible for the way we are feeling - we had a torrential downpour, a cloudburst not long after this was taken, day almost turned to night!  

Sue I know had a lovely time.

Sorry Sharon - you are not getting away! 

Just to say don't let me near your efforts again!  I put you back at least 30 minutes and I was only trying to help  - honest! 

 Not confessing to my blunder on here in anymore detail!

Better late,  than  never and managed to catch up AND overtake us after lunch finishing first with the second card!!

Sally had a two  fab ideas  - she covered hers with a napkin such a lovely texture and put acetate inside her box to keep everything in place - stealing those ideas!!
