House Mouse

Hello everyone.

The last few days have been glorious, I have been outside planting up some bedding.  I was very pleased with my efforts in the blazing sun.  Next morning went out to have a look...3 chrysanths nibbled down to the stalks :-(
Sorry to say the slug bait had to be put down.  Next morning (yesterday) went out to survey the scene found not slugs but snails!  I collected them all up to put in the compost bin.   I don't expect you to believe me but this is absolute truth I counted ... 54!! 
I consider myself lucky that I only lost 3 plants the first day.

Onto today,  I am sharing a House Mouse card with you.

Here is the recipe:

Stamp - House Mouse
Die - Spellbinders Label
Background - Embossing folder, bubbles, sponged with stormy sky distress ink brayered with  diamond  stickles
Embellies  - Candy, ribbon and bow from stash.
Sentiment  - L.O.T.V.
Colouring  - ProMarkers, diamond glaze on bubbles for dimension.

I loved making this birdhouse, the only thing I would do to change it is to use  double sided card.   I used a sheet of 12" x 12" scrapbook card which was ample.  The only thing I wasn't  happy with is seeing the white inside.  It can be used as a gift box; so when it is filled with chocolates or whatever, the white inside can be disguised with some tissue paper.  I am thinking of making a few in different colours to store all my paper flowers, a pink one for pink flowers, yellow one for yellow.... you get the idea.

I have been playing around with the layout, not sure what I am doing  ... Alisdair will tell me.
He gave me some tips regarding taking photos, having good backgrounds, e.g. no wires showing!    So I am learning all the time.  Does this look more professional ? I do hope so.  This is another Sarah Kay stamp, coloured in with Pro Markers and Prisma pencils.  Martha Stewart Punch.  Label made on the PC.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to check out my blog. I really look forward to some constructive comments regarding my postings on here. I don't promise to post something every day, perhaps once a week. The weather is perking up at last so hopefully I will get out in the garden . I managed to pot up a few planters this evening after getting back from card class and before getting the dinner. Still plenty to do, I hope to use this blog to record anything worth showing going on in the garden, e.g. Jenny Wren and her babies etc. If anyone sees a card they like and would like one personalised just send me a message or give me a call, I am always up for a challenge and any excuse to play.
